Drive around the neighborhoods of Orlando and you’ll likely spot one of the bold murals painted by Andrew Spear.
A native of Boston, Spear’s long list of clients includes Jameson Whiskey, Live Nation, musician Questlove, Adidas, Universal Studios, Disney and Nickelodeon. In 2010, MTV called on Spear to paint murals in several rooms of the Real World 25 house at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Spear now calls Orlando home with businesses and city revitalization groups utilizing his talent in unexpected ways. In an effort to keep utility boxes in Ivanhoe Village from being defaced by taggers, Spear was tapped to paint murals on the boxes reflecting subjects from local history.
This mural (above) on a building at the intersection of Mills Avenue and Lake Highland Drive was commissioned by Red Bull and portrays Orlando’s vibrant club scene.
