Classic, manly Southern style isn’t always easy to find in Florida. But Jacksonville has it in spades in the form of Beau Outfitters.

Founded in 2012 by Ryan Switzer and Chase O’Steen, Beau Outfitters sells unpretentious menswear that can be best described as Southern-coastal.

With a facade that harkens back to the days of an old-fashioned general store complete with rocking chairs, the shop at 1972 San Marco Boulevard is as inviting as they come. Members of the staff, and a bow-tied taxidermied fox, welcome each customer as soon as they enter the door.

Browsing through the selection, you can tell the buyers have a good eye for quality. Beau stocks inventory from Southern Proper, Scott Barber, Martin Dingman, Southern Tide, and Over Under. They also carry items from Yeti Coolers and Colonel Littleton.

And if you’re in the market for a new “man bag,” Beau has you covered with a healthy selection of Filson products including rugged brief cases and computer and duffle bags. I took home one of Filson’s Dry Messenger bags…just because I needed another one to add to my collection.
