Fed up with your Facetime and Skype video chats looking like they’re being done in a cave? A new product out of Delray Beach should help brighten up those selfies.

It’s called Chatlight, a portable and rechargeable LED light that can be attached to any device.

Professional photographer Henry Geddes and his business partner Ian Shiell went through more than 14 prototypes during development of the Chatlight. They say what they’ve created is the perfect balance of lighting and ease of use. Below are some of the key features of the Chatlight.

  • Fits anything – Chatlight is expandable allowing it to fit on everything from tablets and smartphones to laptops.
  • No batteries needed – Chatlight can be fully recharged in 15 minutes by plugging into a standard wall outlet or USB port.
  • Highs & lows – Brightness can be adjusted by the flip of a switch.
  • Rotation – Chatlight’s light bar can be swiveled up or down depending on where you need the light projected.

Geddes and Shiell have turned to Kickstarter to help raise funds for production costs. They hope to have Chatlight ready to go by June. It will retail for $30.
