For many Walt Disney World die-hards, no trip to the happiest place on earth is complete without the coolest, most refreshing treat on property – the famous Dole Whip.

Fans love to rave about this tropical moneymaker. And who wouldn’t love it? You just can’t get pineapple soft serve ice cream swirled together with vanilla soft serve ice cream anywhere.

Or can you?

There are two places on WDW property which serve Dole Whips. A walk-up stand called Aloha Isle Refreshments inside the Magic Kingdom and at the Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It’s also a staple at Disneyland in California. Disney and Dole Whips almost seem to be synonymous in a lot of people’s minds.

But in recent years, Dole has made the frozen dessert available at select locations around the country like San Diego, Boulder City, Nevada, and Jefferson City, Missouri.

Add one more location to that list. St. Augustine.

That’s right. Across from the Nation’s Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse on St. George Street sits a little building that serves frozen custard. It’s called The Original Likit and they serve Dole Whips — and turkey legs. Another Disney classic!

You can get the original Dole Whip in a cup or, if you like to sip on some pineapple juice afterward, you can purchase the Dole Whip Float complete with a cute little umbrella. Nice touch, Likit!

So the next time you’re craving a Dole Whip and don’t want to fight the Disney crowds, head to St. Augustine and try The Original Likit. I’ll let you decide on the turkey leg.
