A lot of places have established “trails” for helping visitors and locals easily locate everything from historic landmarks to the best nature spots. But some creative marketing folks in Tallahassee have developed a special trail designed to appeal to tastebuds.

The Tallahassee Burger Trail is a collection of six member restaurants which feature signature hamburgers offering their own unique interpretation of the American classic.

For example, Madison Social (pictured above) on the Florida State campus serves up a 1/2 lb. chargrilled angus burger topped with fried avocado, peppered maple bacon, Jameson caramelized onions, house aioli, and aged cheddar.

Over at the Sweet Rack Rib Shack, the Southern Gent is made with two 1/4 lb. burger patties, bacon, 2 pieces of American cheese surrounding pulled pork and cole slaw topped with sweet BBQ sauce.

To take part in the adventure, go to the Tallahassee Burger Trail website and download the official “passport.”
