The weathered building on Apalachicola’s waterfront beckons you like the seven seas. Brightly painted wooden buoys, rusted brass lanterns and scantily-clad female pirate mannequins tempt you to see what’s inside The Tin Shed.

If you theme your home, beach house, tiki bar or cabana with nautical decor, this is a place you shouldn’t miss. They claim to have the “most comprehensive maritime collection east of the Mississippi.”

Roam the open-air store and you’ll find rusty lanterns, vintage dive suits, old ship parts, colorful life savers, wood carvings, humorous signs, and mermaid statues. The Tin Shed also has the largest selection of authentic buoys you’ll ever see. Even if nautical decor isn’t your thing, pick up one of the buoys and take it home with you as a souvenir of your visit to Apalachicola and Florida’s Forgotten Coast.
