Ever dreamed of running through the streets of downtown Orlando half-naked in your underwear? On your bucket list, maybe? Here’s your chance to cross it off.

Hundreds of people are expected strip down to their skivvies and take part in Cupid’s Undie Run Saturday, February 6.

The roughly one-mile run raises awareness and money for Children’s Tumor Foundation. The non-government organization is dedicated to ending a rare and deadly disease called Neurofibromatosis (NF). The genetic disorder causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, causing blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and severe chronic pain.

It’s estimated NF affects one in every 3,000 births.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised locally last year and over $3.5 million came in through similar runs across the country.

So why do it half-naked, in undies? Organizers say the explanation is simple. The people who have NF can’t cover up their tumors and can’t put clothes on to feel more comfortable, so why should the runners?

While undies are strongly encouraged, they’re not mandatory. Organizers say they just want a bunch of people to turn out, have fun and raise money for NF research.

In Orlando, the Undie Run is scheduled for 2 pm Saturday, February 6. But the party atmosphere starts at noon and lasts until 4 pm.
