Lynn Badger has a passion for collecting old things. A few years ago, she kicked that passion up a level when she purchased a beautiful piece of property in Havana, Florida.

The property, with its collection of historic buildings, was a popular steak house at one time. Badger snapped up the 5-acres with a vision for turning the old structures into fashionable guest rooms for travelers.

Today, White Dog Plantation is a destination bed and breakfast where visitors can stay in vintage buildings like the 1880 Salem House and Patrick’s General Store, which was saved from destruction in Gulf County.

The well-appointed rooms are decorated with antiques, including claw-foot tubs, and cool finds from Badger’s growing collection of old things.

Shady Rest, a building that once served as a honky tonk, is available to rent out for weddings and other large events.
